Distribution

Pickhandle barracudas are found in the Indo-West Pacific: Red Sea south to the south-east coast of South Africa and east to New Caledonia and Vanuatu. A recent report from Tonga. Due to widespread confusion with Sphyraena putnamae and Sphyraena qenie, the exact range is unknown.
