• Tropibasal skull

From the Greek trópis - keel and bá́sis - base.

The tropibasal skull is a skull with a narrow base and convergent eye sockets separated by a thin septum. The brain is located behind the eye sockets. This type of skull is peculiar to most bony fishes, of fossil fishes - to kystepper fishes.
