Jugular fin arrangement - observed in fish that have pelvic fins located on the pharynx.
The pelvic fins may be in front of the pectoral fins - on the neck. This arrangement is called jugular and is characteristic of large-headed fishes with a compact arrangement of internal organs. The jugular position of the pectoral fins is characteristic of all fishes of the order Gadiformes, as well as of the order Perciformes: Uranoscopidae, Nototheniidae, Blenniidae and others.
