Hibernation - a period of life of fishes, evolutionary fixed way of fishes in unfavourable period of the year (desiccation of water body, lack of oxygen, low temperatures, etc.), accompanied by decrease in the level of vital activity and metabolism (torpor), reduced heart rate, slow breathing and other physiological processes. This is one of the ways fish hibernate.
