• Growing season

Vegetation is from the Latin vegetatio, to revitalise, to sprout.

A period of the year characterised by certain values of abiotic factors (temperature, day length, etc.) during which the maximum growth and development of aquatic organisms, mainly phytoplankton, is observed. The duration of the growing season depends on the natural conditions (latitude, climate) in which a given water body is located. For the biota of waters in the south of Krasnoyarsk Krai, the growing season usually lasts from May to October.
