The head of a fish is subdivided into:
snout - from the end of the snout to the front edge of the eyes,
forehead, between the eyes,
cheek - from the eye to the posterior edge of the pre-cranial bone,
throat - between the gill membranes and the base of the pectoral fins,
chin - from the mandibles to the attachment of the gill webs,
gill interspace.
The gill interspace is a partition separating the gill cavities.
A part of the fish body that divides the gill cavities from below into left and right gill cavities.
