The head of a fish is subdivided into:

snout - from the end of the snout to the front edge of the eyes,

forehead, between the eyes,

cheek - from the eye to the posterior edge of the pre-cranial bone,

throat - between the gill membranes and the base of the pectoral fins,

chin - from the mandibles to the attachment of the gill webs,

gill interspace.

The gill interspace is a partition separating the gill cavities.

A part of the fish body that divides the gill cavities from below into left and right gill cavities.
