• Eurytopic fish

From Evry... and the Greek tópos is a place.

Eurytopic fishes are widespread species inhabiting a variety of habitats under a wide range of environmental conditions, characterised by high ecological value.

Species that live in a wide variety of habitats. They have high plasticity or broad ecological value (unlike stenotopic organisms). Their ranges are usually very extensive. The degree of eurytopicity may vary. Species populations in the centre of the range are eurytopic, while those at the periphery are usually stenotopic.
