Degeneration of fish eggs is the process of eggs resorption in the ovaries; it is observed when the reproductive conditions do not meet the needs of the organism - lack of spawning substrate, changes in spawning temperatures, salinity and other environmental factors. Degeneration of eggs externally is reduced to the fact that the shells of eggs destroyed and the contents of the eggs fused together to form a kissel-like mass, which is gradually absorbed into the blood and enter the body's general metabolism. When the eggs degenerate, the cells are distorted and the egg follicles are destroyed, accompanied by the resorption of yolk and fat. In fish with a single spawning event, mass resorption of eggs completely loses the offspring of the current year and the females remain as yolk for one year.
